3rd Wednesday of the month
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:
The Women's Institute Girls meet on the first Wednesday of every month from 19:30 to 21:30 at The Wilson Marriage Centre, Colchester.
Meetings start at 19:30, although, the hall is usually open 10/15 minutes earlier. This is the perfect opportunity to grab a seat, a cup of tea and maybe even a cake. Every meeting begins with a few words from our President, the month's notices and an introduction to the speaker.
Speakers vary every month but could be a slideshow on worldwide travel, a practical demonstration on flower arranging, a singing workshop or a dancing class. For more information on speakers for 2020 please see below.
After the speaker we usually have some social time. If we're having a Swish, Book Swap etc then this is the time to go and have a rifle through the goodies and see what you can find! This is also time to wander around the room and meet some new faces or catch up with friends.
The meeting ends around 21:30 and we have to vacate the hall by 22:00. Most nights you'll find groups of WIGs chatting away as they head through the car park!
Non-members are always welcome at our monthly meetings for a recommended donation of £5.00.
Hosted by Annie Engle, Book Club takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Odd One Out, Mersea Road. Copies of each month's book, on loan from the library, can be picked up at the monthly meetings.

Get to know your WI

Wednesday 5th February:
Essex Wildlife Trust
This month, Emily from The Essex Wildlife Trust, will be talking to us about their ambitions to create a wilder Essex. She will be telling us about the exciting projects that they are involved in to try to achieve this aim. This includes things like bringing back rare species and restoring habitats to enrich the wildlife living there. After a break for tea and cake we will be making some bird feeders to take home to encourage wildlife into our own gardens.
Join us for what promises to be a very enjoyable evening.
